The study of the liberal arts may be wasted on the young. The ability to think and articulate are defensible byproducts of such an educational path. But in our youth are we truly prepared to unlock the mysteries of our past as guides for our future? Are we more driven by the need to check the box and be given the key to our success as adults? Corporate America awaits you with open arms.

As I get older, I am attracted to all the literary accomplishments that passed through my hands when I was a younger man. I find it difficult to remember any thing from those late hours I spent with highlighter in hand. But today I seek these treasurers, armed with the knowledge gathered through the years and the opportunity to understand and interpret what has passed before me. To be so deeply provoked by what previously was dismissed as irrelevant. How foolish was I.

Count Rostov, I feel your pain. The world moves forward at accelerating speed, rendering your relevance to the trash heap of discarded ways. Do not jump to your death fine sir. Your cultured self adds clarity and insight to those who dare to prod. The world is better for your existence as the indoctrinated wallow and drown in the propaganda they spread. I can only hope to follow your path, to provide insight to those in need, and to make sense of the world as my last breaths are nearing. To be a true gentleman is my hope, regardless of what others think. So is the way of one steeped in the liberal arts.
